Twisted pair data cable allows communication between

the units. Using this cable, input units (eg. switches and

sensors) and output units (eg. relays and dimmers) can be

connected to any point in the C-Bus2 network.

Connections can be looped from unit to unit or a new

branch can be added at any point. This ‘free topology’

structure allows for a very ﬂ exible system and means new

services can be added at any time with ease.

The size of a C-Bus2 system is practically unlimited.

Larger installations are typically divided into networks of

100 units allowing the system to be set up in manageable

sections and up to 1000 metres of cable can be installed

per network.

So you see, the system can be as small or as large as you

need. And C-Bus2 not only simpliﬁ es the design of your

automation needs, it also limits potential faults and makes

troubleshooting easier.

Each unit on the C-Bus2 network has its own built-in

microprocessor allowing it to operate independently with

“distributed intelligence.”

This gives you extremely reliable high-speed

communication because control information is held within

each unit rather than inside a central computer or

controlling point. It also means a malfunction in one unit

won’t disrupt the entire system.

Plus, unlike other systems, C-Bus2 allows multiple

commands to be sent and received simultaneously at a high

speed. This 2-way communication also allows devices to

share information amongst themselves.

The great thing about C-Bus2 is you can program

it manually without a computer. By simply pressing the

correct sequence of buttons you can easily set commands

to control a building’s electrical services.

There is an easy to follow instruction booklet and video

to help get you started too. If you prefer, you can still use

a computer to program C-Bus2 as well.
